This Friday, June 13, the VIII Scientific Pain Clinic Conference of Hospital Quirón Teknon will take place, organized by the Teknon Foundation and the Pain Clinic of Hospital Quirón Teknon, a Top Doctors center of excellence. The conference will focus on new developments in the treatment of chronic pain and patient support. Some of the areas of interest are interventionism, complementary therapies, psychological support for patients, relaxation workshops, rehabilitation techniques, osteopathy, acupuncture and naturopathy.
Dr. Luis Aliaga, member of Top Doctors and coordinator of the Clínica del Dolor, will be in charge of opening the event, moderating the second round table and presenting the services offered by the center. The meeting is not only focused on healthcare professionals, but also includes activities of interest to patients, which will take place in the morning. Psychologist Carolina Franceschi, a member of Top Doctors, will lead a relaxation workshop and talk about the role of psychological support in the treatment of ailments. The afternoon program includes talks aimed at medical experts attending the event, such as the one to be given by Dr. Ricardo Vallejo, director of the Millenium Pain Center Chicago, consultant of the Pain Clinic and member of Top Doctors, on the role of opioids in the treatment of chronic pain and their possible abuse. Attendance at the conference is free of charge, although prior registration is required, as places are limited. Professionals in the sector who attend the event will receive a diploma of attendance.
