Face and body lifts, cheating the hands of the clock

The face, arms and legs. Three parts of the body that are very visible on a daily basis (especially in warm seasons) but which reveal our degree of aging through wrinkles and the appearance of “sagging” skin -in the case of the face- and flaccidity and sagging -when it comes to the limbs-. Sometimes, in addition, we look older than we really are, so the facelift has the function of solving this problem. The results are permanent, but cheating the clock does not mean that time does not take its course, so after this intervention basic skin care must be maintained.

The facelift

This operation is performed by tightening the muscles of the face, eliminating depressions and furrows with fillers, removing excess fat and redistributing the skin of both the face and neck. With this method it is possible to restructure the areas of the face that have deteriorated or even sagged over time. There are several types of lifting and techniques, depending on the specific area to be treated. First, there is the forehead lift, which is based mainly on eliminating forehead wrinkles and raising sagging eyebrows, thus rejuvenating our look and eliminating the “sad” gesture. Secondly, your surgeon may recommend a midface lift. This achieves the lifting and marking of the cheeks by pulling -that is, stretching- the muscles and the skin, and also by eliminating the fat stored in the cheekbones. Finally, to remove the so-called “double chin”, the neck lift is performed by performing a liposuction with a fine cannula and, if necessary, a neck lift by removing excess skin.

The arm lift

With the name of brachial lifting, this surgery is summarized in removing excess skin and fat located mainly in the inner area of the arms, and finally stretching the skin both vertically and horizontally. Depending on your case, the specialist may indicate you to undergo a simple lifting (for example for young patients and / or where there is little sagging skin) or one that involves an axillary and thoracic extension (intended for older people who suffer from what is often referred to as “arm pendulum”, due to a greater amount of excess fat and skin that cause the whole region of the biceps look very drooping, soft, and even swaying with movement). The purpose of using this technique is to achieve a smooth, firm and smooth skin, eliminating the sagging appearance that is a feature unmistakably associated with aging.

The Thigh Lift

Also known as a crural lift, it is performed with the same methodology as the arm lift but this time the surgeon focuses on the inner thighs. The procedure is the same: removal of the skin and fatty tissue, and then tightening the remaining skin. Patients will therefore avoid annoying friction (for example: friction of the thighs when walking), in addition to enjoying the aesthetic change and greater mobility.
