Barcelona, November 5, 2018 – Top Doctors® today unveiled the list of the 50 most highly rated Spanish doctors in private medicine in our country in its 5th Edition of the Top Doctors® Awards. These prestigious awards recognize the work of the most valued doctors in the last year by the medical collective itself and specialists in each area, in charge of making the nomination through an open survey process aimed at collegiate professionals who wish to participate. All the doctors on the platform have passed an external audit control and have been certified by what is currently the most rigorous selection process for doctors in the world.
In this year 2018, a total of 4,000 recommendations from professionals have been reached, from which the 50 most voted ones have been selected to compose the ranking. All the winners also have the best scores recognized by patients, have more than 15 years of experience and great international recognition.
This is the ranking by Autonomous Community: Andalusia (with 10 professionals), Catalonia (9), Madrid (9), Basque Country (6), Galicia (5), Canary Islands (4), Valencian Community (4) and Aragon, Asturias and Murcia (with 1 professional selected respectively). Among the most recommended medical specialties in private medicine, Ophthalmology (with 8 professionals), Traumatology (7), Cardiology (4) and General Surgery, Neurosurgery and Dermatology (with 3 professionals each) stand out.
Dr. Diego González Rivas (Thoracic Surgery) wins the Top Doctors Awards for the fifth consecutive year, while for Dr. Agustín Viera Ramírez (Dermatology), Dr. Humberto Carreras Díaz (Ophthalmology) and Dr. Antonio de Lacy Fortuny (General Surgery) it is the third year of award.
