Benefits of immediately loaded implants

Implantology is the branch of Dentistry and Stomatology that tries to recover the esthetic, functional and masticatory function when the patient loses one or more dental pieces. At the Benalúa Medical Dental Center we use implants made with high quality and guaranteed biocompatible materials, which are fixed in the bone and hold new dental pieces to replace those lost.

Immediate load implants allow to eliminate waiting times

Immediate load implants eliminate the waiting time between implant placement and the final tooth. It can be performed in a single tooth or in the whole mouth.

The process is: the patient goes to the specialist’s office and the damaged pieces are extracted, the implants are placed and immediately fixed provisional prostheses are placed on top of the implants. All this, moreover, is done in a single session, making it much more comfortable for the patient, in addition to a recovery of functionality and aesthetics at the time. In a period of 3 to 6 months, healing will take place and the provisional prosthesis will be replaced by the definitive porcelain prosthesis.

Application of 3D technology in immediately loaded implants

Modern technology brings many advantages in implantology treatments. Whereas in the past implants required 4 to 8 months of treatment for the patient to recover function and esthetics, now immediate loading techniques with CEREC CAD-CAM allow the tooth to be restored in a single session.

All this is possible thanks to the computer-guided technique and the immediate milling of the prosthesis. The optical 3D scanner makes a perfect copy of the anatomy of the patient’s teeth and gums, which is convenient for the patient, as there is no need to make molds.

In addition, a software application provides the specialist with the necessary information to design and place the provisional crown in one session, provided that the requirements and criteria for immediate loading are met.

Several studies have shown that immediate load implants have a high success rate, provided that patients have sufficient quantity and quality in the maxillary bone.
