Restore the skin tone of under-eye circles with carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy is a therapy reserved exclusively for application by medical professionals specialized in aesthetic medicine. The application of carbon dioxide gas is one of the non-invasive procedures.

It consists of subcutaneous CO2 injections in the under-eye area, which produce vasodilation of the blood vessels, improving circulation and producing oxygenation of the tissues.

What are the results of this technique?

Carboxytherapy provides satisfactory results in dark circles of vascular origin (bluish or purplish color), improving local microcirculation, tissue oxygenation and the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers. In this way, we achieve an improvement in the color, tone and elasticity of the skin under the eyes.

How many sessions does it consist of?

Carboxytherapy sessions can be scheduled weekly or biweekly, depending on the degree of dark circles. The patient should be aware that at least six sessions are required.

Is it a definitive treatment?

The percentage of effectiveness depends on each particular case. In many cases, adjuvant treatments are required, such as hyaluronic acid filler.

Does the patient need to take any special care once the treatment is finished?

The skin around the eyes is exceptionally thin and delicate, with a thickness much less than the skin of the rest of the body. After the carboxytherapy session, the eyelids are usually swollen (from a few minutes to a few hours), depending on the characteristics of the patient (something similar to what happens after crying or not having slept well). Small hematomas may also appear due to the microinjection. It is important not to rub the area during the first hours and a proper maintenance to keep the area in the best condition. After carboxytherapy, you can do physical exercise and a completely normal life.
