Nose jobs and touch-ups without surgery

Correcting minor defects of the nose without surgery is the ultimate in nasal touch-ups. Therefore, traditional rhinoplasties, high precision surgical intervention to change the shape and / or size of the nose for aesthetic purposes, are complemented by new minimally invasive treatments to solve small defects without surgery.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a high-precision intervention that corrects both congenital defects and those that have arisen due to causes such as accidents or fortuitous blows to the face. With this intervention is corrected not only the shape of the nose but also the breathing difficulty caused by a deviation of the nasal septum, then we speak of rhinoseptoplasty. They are nose operations that usually require anesthetic sedation. After more than 35 years of experience in rhinoplasty, I advise against the “limadita”, the simple scraping, because it usually leads to a very unaesthetic flattening of the nasal dorsum.

In my opinion, almost everyone can improve their image with a well-developed nose job. For years I have been using a computer system developed in the United States where both patient and doctor can see in real time the changes and plan an intervention, we could say, “a la carte”. This procedure requires a great deal of experience on the part of the surgeon to be able to transform all the computerized steps into meticulous surgical techniques. Even in the operating room, computerized preoperative images are used, in addition to a Galileo Microscope, which triples the virtual size of all structures, or in other words, achieves a precision three times greater than without this instrument.

Treatments with or without surgery

Aesthetic enhancement treatments are in great demand and the techniques have evolved a lot, to the point that a great variety of surgical and non-surgical methods are used, with or without anesthesia. The surgeon’s experience will always indicate the best procedure to perform.

As far as minimally invasive techniques are concerned, they consist of infiltrating reabsorbable or permanent filler products to solve problems such as asymmetry, depressions, etc… Botulinum toxin (botox or vistabel) is also used to relax the muscles of the nasal tip and make it “rise”, thus improving the nasolabial angle. There are also small outpatient procedures that can achieve spectacular definitive results in minutes.

With all these new procedures can solve problems arising from a rhinoplasty, the patient will no longer have to go back to the operating room for a small touch-up. Although sometimes these treatments cannot replace a surgical intervention if it is indicated.
