Your cosmetic surgery operation

Cosmetic surgery today is no longer a luxury, something for whimsical people. Society has finally understood that a person does not resort to it to remove or add a few centimeters or grams, but to treat something transcendental: what they produce in us. The subconscious is there, almost without manifesting itself, but very sensitive to body image. And it acts insecurely, destabilizing for something that seems insignificant to the rest of the world.

Having cosmetic surgery has become normal. It is like a trip, a master’s degree… an investment in oneself. For life. But it has caught us unawares. Like so many things in this country. I want to help you here to avoid being one of these sad patients who come to our offices late and badly. Because it “didn’t go well”. I hope you understand me. And that my colleagues do too.

Here we go.

What you should know

– The qualification is essential

  • In order to practice medicine in Spain with legal guarantees, it is necessary to be a member of the Official College of Physicians of the province where you wish to work. And in order to be registered as a doctor you must have a legally valid medical degree.
  • In order to practice cosmetic surgery in Spain with legal guarantees, it is necessary, in addition to register with the Official College of Physicians of the province where you wish to work, to register as a Specialist in Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. And in order to be registered as a specialist you must have the title of specialist, legally valid.
  • This is the guarantee that the Spanish state finally offers. To avoid the consequences of intrusion and fraud. Because in Spain today there are about 9,000 doctors who perform plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery without the official qualification. That it requires a MIR exam and a minimum learning period of five years in a hospital. This has been denounced by the president of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE).

Each professional teaching activity (publications, courses, seminars, congresses, etc.) that a physician attends has its own certificate.

– The personal impression is very valid

The first visit with the surgeon is fundamental:

1.-Go accompanied. One (or two) trusted companions will help you a lot.

2.-Observe: the environment

3.-Listen carefully: to the surgeon and his collaborators.

4.-Question: everything

5.-Analyze: slowly

6 .-Evaluate: calmly

7.-And don’t buy cheap: it can be very expensive.

8.-And above all, don’t be sold (expensive or cheap): beware of commercialism in medicine…

-> Where do I find it?

1.-Prepare a list of your candidate specialists (by recommendation of friends, general impression, etc.: no forums).

2.-This list should be a minimum of one, maximum of three (so as not to saturate you).

3.-Order them, leaving the one you think is best prepared for the last visit. He will be able to clarify any doubts that may have arisen. And so you will finally be able to choose with a better knowledge

– Vox Populi: what people say, the majority of people.

  1. Be wary of the Internet: it is very manipulable.

  2. Avoid forums: you will never know the intentionality of the person who writes.

  3. Beware of advertising: it is an empty payment, to the detriment of your surgeon.

  4. Listen to your human environment, everything: perceive the opinion of the whole society around you (not just a part of it). Everyone is not usually wrong

  5. And then choose, in this order, the specialist who for you (and only for you) is more: Human: who reaches you, who you can really trust; Qualified: the qualification is today, as always, an essential legal guarantee; Expert: and a lot. Not for a short time. Very experienced in their profession; Updated: detect that they are really up to date.

If you have this in mind, go ahead. Because you will intensely enjoy one of your most important triumphs as a Human Being: your aesthetic surgery intervention.
