What is necessary for a successful artificial insemination

There are two main requirements for a successful artificial insemination pregnancy:

  1. The donor sperm meets the minimum requirements established by the World Health Organization (WHO). A seminogram or semen analysis will determine whether or not the sperm is valid for artificial insemination.
  2. At least one of the fallopian tubes of the woman who wants to undergo treatment is permeable. To verify whether artificial insemination can be performed, a hysterosalpingography or tubal x-ray will be performed.

Other factors that have a determining influence on the viability of the treatment are:

  • Age of the woman: Assisted Reproduction specialists advise that the treatment be performed before the age of 35.
  • Infertility time: The longer you have been infertile, the less chance you have of a successful pregnancy.
