What is the Painless Smile Treatment – Snap on Smile?
The Snap on Smile treatment is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment, which consists of a kind of splint in the shape of our teeth that covers the entire mouth. It is a fairly recent technique in Spain and is not widely used. Not all clinics can perform this treatment, since a special certificate from the manufacturer is required. How is the treatment performed?
It is a very simple treatment. First of all, an initial assessment visit is made to find out if the patient is compatible with the treatment. Secondly, mouth impressions are taken from suitable patients and sent to a specialized laboratory in the USA, where the patient’s splint is designed in 3D with high-tech equipment. The fabrication is carried out with the Cad Cam system. Finally, after passing a quality control, we receive it in the clinic within 2 to 4 weeks. As soon as we receive it, we proceed to place it in the patient’s mouth.
What type of patient is suitable for this treatment?
Practically most patients can wear these dental caps. On the patient’s first visit to the clinic we assess the healthiness of the mouth before taking the impressions and fabricating the Snap on Smile. In most cases patients want to undergo this minimally invasive treatment, as it will allow them to have a beautiful smile without the need for surgery. Compared to composite or ceramic veneers, the Snap on Smile appliance is quite economical. In addition, it is highly recommended for patients who do not want to undergo orthodontic treatment because it is a long treatment. Likewise, it can also be a solution in cases where patients have tetracycline, gray or very yellow teeth and cannot afford teeth whitening. Snap on Smile appliances are compatible with most patients, so they would be the solution for patients who do not wish to undergo orthodontics or teeth whitening.
