KINESIOTHERAPY

What is kinesiotherapy?

Kinesiotherapy is a natural treatment that correlates the mind and the body, considering that taking care of one of the two aspects will influence the other. Thus, in kinesiotherapy the response of the muscles is observed to detect possible imbalances in the body, prevent or correct them.

Why is it performed?

Kinesiotherapy is used to treat diseases of different origins but, above all, it is recommended for people with muscular ailments or stress.

What does it consist of?

At the beginning of kinesiotherapy treatments, a muscle test is performed to assess the quality and type of response of the body’s muscles when they are contracted. As the muscles are related to the organs and functions of the body, their response will not be adequate if the system that feeds them (nervous, blood, lymphatic…) is blocked or under stress. The muscle test will allow the experts to locate the dysfunctional areas and the consequences this may have on the patient’s health.

Once the type of disorder has been determined, the expert will use different therapies to treat it, unblocking the problem areas, reducing stress, improving blood circulation and oxygenating the compressed areas. The specialist will also apply cold or heat to the area, combined acupuncture, ultrasound or electrostimulation. This should be accompanied by a healthy and active lifestyle, preventing mobility problems or ailments associated with sedentary lifestyles and poor posture.

Preparation for kinesiotherapy

No specific preparation is necessary for kinesiotherapy, as it is a completely natural therapy that is harmless to health and does not use any type of anesthesia, device or medication.

Care after the procedure

Although kinesiotherapy is a totally benign technique for the human body, it never hurts to consult with the specialist, if you have any specific pathology, in order to rule out possible contraindications. Previous analysis will also help to better determine how to apply kinesiotherapy. It is important to note that in people with acute infections, heart disease, cancer, osteitis and in pregnant women the therapy is usually not recommended.
