Dr. Jordi Monés leads a meeting of experts on blindness

Blindness, one of the greatest challenges in global health, has an enormous impact on the people who suffer from it and also on their families. For this reason, leading specialists in Ophthalmology and blindness experts will meet at the B-Debate Fighting Blindness: Future challenges and opportunities for visual restoration. The debate will be held over two days on September 6 and 7. This is a conference promoted by the Medical Director of the Institut de la Màcula and the Barcelona Macula Foundation (BMF), Dr. Jordi Monés, a member of Top Doctors, with the support of the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and the Leitat Foundation.

The B-Debate forums are a scientific debate initiative of the “La Caixa” Banking Foundation and Biocat. Its aim is to propose new ideas and explore new therapeutic approaches for retinal dystrophies. The meeting will be attended by basic and transnational researchers as well as world leaders and experts in this pathology.

It is estimated that there are currently 285 million people in the world with degenerative impairments, 39 million of whom are blind.

The registration period is now open, so all those specialists and researchers who wish to present their posters can apply until July 31.
