For some months now, the Psoriasis Unit has been in operation at the Hospital Universitario Madrid Norte Sanchinarro. It is a joint consultation that Dr. Virginia Sanchez, psychologist Sara Izquierdo and Dr. Marta Valero Expósito, rheumatologist and member of Top Doctors, are simultaneously working together.
The aim is to assess patients with possible joint involvement to their psoriasis or vice versa, to assess the presence of skin lesions in patients suffering from arthritis and on which, at some point, there are certain doubts in the presence of such lesions. It is a joint work of the Rheumatology and Dermatology services for the joint assessment of patients with psoriasis.
A unit aimed at:
-Patients with cutaneous psoriasis.
-Patients with arthritis and cutaneous involvement.
In addition, the unit’s psychologist evaluates the psychological problems and the impact that these diseases can have on the patient. The visit with the rheumatologist and the dermatologist is done simultaneously and, later but in the same visit, the patient is evaluated by the psychologist.
