Capillary Transplantation

What is hair transplantation?

Hair transplantation or hair transplantation is a treatment that consists of progressively replanting hair. Patients with common baldness are increasingly resorting to hair transplant treatments, which consist of a surgical intervention for hair implantation in the areas where there is no hair left. This technique is performed under local anesthesia and is painless.

Why is it performed?

It is performed because some people lose their hair. Androgenic alopecia progresses even though it can be temporarily stopped by medical treatment.

What does it consist of?

Basically, hair transplantation consists of transferring hair roots from an area of the scalp where there is still abundant hair to the areas where there are no more roots. Thanks to this hair graft, the hair is reimplanted progressively in different sessions until the bald areas of the scalp are populated. The results obtained are highly satisfactory since the extracted roots grow naturally in their new location. The transplanted hair is obtained from the cervico-occipital region, since it is subject to the influence of the male hormone.

Preparation for hair transplantation

Before a hair transplant it is advisable to massage the recipient area for five minutes a day for about a month before surgery. It is also important to stop smoking at least one week before the operation. The day before, the patient should eat a light dinner and avoid alcohol intake. The patient should fast before the surgery.
