Trigger points of light on the face

How to bring light to the face?

When we want to bring light to the face what we need to do is to know exactly which are the points that dull the face. Those points are usually areas coinciding with volume loss, generally due to fat loss, and what we are going to try to do is to reposition that volume to where it was lost and with that, if we manage to restore that volume by injecting natural substances, what we are going to do is to reproject those lost planes and consequently the light will return on that projected plane. So we will do it in a gradual way and what we are going to achieve is that the appearance of a tired face disappears.

What are the best points to illuminate?

The points that we would call points of light activation in the face, generally, when a person comes to consult for a sad, tired and dull face, are usually the following: we call them PAL, points of light activation, and we will distinguish five fundamentally. The first one coincides with the area above the eyebrow, that is why we call it supraciliary point. Therefore, a volume restitution at this level will not only raise the eyebrow and reduce the skin that falls from the eyelid, but also give luminosity to the upper third of the face. The second point would be just coincident with what would be the orbitomalar point, which is the small furrow that forms at the level of the eyebrow. When we restore its volume, we are going to achieve projection, improve not only hydration and all those small wrinkles, but the projection of light is now on a projected plane and not just a sunken plane. The third would be the malar point, the most important of the middle third of the face, where the malar projection to avoid that fall in the line that we would call the tear trough will therefore achieve an improvement at this level. The fourth point is the upper part of what we would call the nasolabial or nasolabial groove, which would be the groove between the nose and the upper lip. The tendency in the past was to fill this furrow, today it is understood that it is formed by drooping, by loss of volume at the point of malar projection and by the subjection of the entire zygomatic area, which is the field hockey stick technique. Here what we are going to do is to inject a small bolus, specifically of hyaluronic acid at this level, and once the sensation of improvement is achieved in the whole area of the nasolabial fold. And the last one would be in the area around the chin that we would call PAL 5 or perimentonian point. With any projection at the level of these five points we will try to restore luminosity to the face.

What does the treatment consist of and how many sessions are necessary?

The treatment consists, therefore, in returning to those areas that have been, that have been depressed, returning the projection at that level. For this we use the most natural substance that exists, which is hyaluronic acid. The natural element that we have in our skin, which we lose over time, and what we do is a restitution of what was lost. To do this, we try to inject with a microcannula, with a rounded tip to minimize the risk of bruising, entering a specific point, for example in PAL 1, we would speak of entering the point of eyebrow tail, and we would make some radial tracings with hyaluronic acid. This technique is also known as radiant sun. In the second case we would enter at one point from the cheekbone to access the entire eyebrow area. We would do the same for PAL 3, that is, the cheekbone area, the nasolabial fold area or the area around the chin. How long does it last? Well, hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that once injected depends on the needs of each skin, so it will swallow it like a plant swallows water when you water it, according to its needs. Generally the treatment is done in one session, with this in five minutes you return the luminosity to the face and then the duration, generally, can be around four, maximum six months.

From what age is it recommended?

Hyaluronic acid, being a tremendously natural substance, is recommended from any age, any sex and at any time of the year. While it is true that the needs are more imperative from the age of 30, 35 years, we are seeing more and more at earlier ages and generally also very young girls do it when they even want to improve problems of acne scars, and so on. So any age is a good age to achieve a moisturizing effect thanks to hyaluronic acid.
