Invisible orthodontics: the solution for a beautiful smile

Dr. Almudena Magán Moya, dentist at Top Doctors, as an expert in Invisalign, will explain the details of this technique.

Invisalign is an invisible orthodontic system that consists of a series of transparent aligners that are replaced sequentially and we produce the dental movement that we would otherwise do with brackets. These transparent aligners must be worn by the patient in the mouth for a minimum of 20 hours a day and are replaced every two weeks, either at home by the orthodontist or in the clinic for consultation. These aligners each carry a certain amount of information according to the treatment plan that we have previously designed in the clinic. This treatment plan is designed based on a 3D clincheck in which we have reflected the patient’s dental status and on which we design the desired movements. Based on this clincheck, Align Institute manufactures the aligners that are sent to the clinic and on which the orthodontist works. Practically all malocclusions can be treated with this system, although it must always be the orthodontist who diagnoses the case and sees how effective the treatment can and should be. It offers obvious esthetics, comfort for the patient and adequate hygiene since the patient removes it for brushing.
