Platelet-rich plasma for alopecia, what does it consist of?
First, blood is drawn from the patient and centrifuged for 15 minutes. This centrifugation separates the platelet-rich plasma that will be injected into the patient’s scalp to stimulate regeneration. These are painless microinjections but if the patient wishes, and to avoid minor discomfort, an anesthetic cream can be applied or cold can be applied to the area.
