What are focused ultrasounds?
Focused ultrasound comes from ultrasound like ultrasound machines. Modern devices are able to focus all the ultrasound energy on one point, thus allowing tissue retraction. Until today it was possible only in body treatment, for example to reduce the volume of fat, but now and for the first time we can also use them for facial treatment and thereby achieve muscle retraction.
What does focused ultrasound treatment consist of?
The treatment consists of a very minimally invasive technique also known as auto-regenerative because it is to apply ultrasound, exactly about 8,000 shots, in the facial area of the jaw and neck to get a few small points that make the muscle retraction. It is a treatment that is performed for approximately twenty to thirty minutes, does not leave marks and is only somewhat uncomfortable because we feel the ultrasound puncture.
What is the difference between focused ultrasound and other treatments?
The difference is fundamental. For example, lasers act at a very superficial level of the skin; radiofrequency acts at a medium level, but for the first time and thanks to focused ultrasound we can act at a deep level, that is to say, we can reach the muscle. Until now no non-invasive treatment could treat the muscle. It was only possible through a surgical facelift, but now the focused ultrasound treatment can retract the muscle providing a similar (not equal) result to the traditional facelift, but without surgery.
Is focused ultrasound treatment safe?
It is absolutely safe. As its name indicates, it is only ultrasound, no substance is injected. It is a technique that works by self-regeneration and there is no type of invasion. Everything is performed at a superficial level of the skin without incisions or surgery. It does not cause allergies or injuries. The only thing: it is somewhat uncomfortable and painful, and there may be a residual pain of about two or three days.
What results can be expected?
The results that can be obtained with focused ultrasound are moderate, at no time can be compared with a surgical lifting. With this treatment a retraction of the tissue is achieved, but the tissue is not cut. It represents an improvement that could not be obtained until now, but the results are less evident compared to a traditional surgical facelift.
