How to take care of your skin after summer

After summer, proper facial moisturizing is essential to maintain the health and beauty of the skin, prevent skin diseases and premature aging.

Why moisturize our skin?

Aesthetic Medicine recommends using sunscreen with a high protection factor daily, reapplying it every hour in case of direct exposure to the sun at the beach. The horny layer is the most superficial layer of the epidermis and is in contact with the exterior. The function of this layer is to protect the skin from dehydration and external aggressions (solar radiation, sudden changes in temperature, chlorine, etc). For this natural barrier to perform its functions correctly, it needs to retain between 10% and 15% water. If changes in the water content of the stratum corneum occur, the skin becomes dehydrated, presenting the following symptoms:

  • Increased tendency to sunburn.
  • Dryness, flaking, irritations.
  • Photoaging
  • Dull appearance of the skin.

For these reasons, we propose the following medical-aesthetic advice and treatments:

  • Cosmetics: It is advisable to increase hydration with creams that maintain a sufficient hydric level, at least 2 times a day.
  • Balanced diet: The diet can provide a good supply of vitamins and minerals that help maintain skin health. Some substances, such as omega-3 fatty acids and beta-carotene, protect and prepare the skin for sun exposure. Fruits and vegetables are sources of vitamins and minerals with high antioxidant power.
  • Aesthetic Medicine Treatments: Facial mesotherapy 4-5 sessions as a shock treatment, then a maintenance session every 4 months.
  • Daily sun protection.

Facial Mesotherapy consists of the infiltration of small doses of nourishing, moisturizing and collagen-stimulating substances, such as non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid (without volume), vitamins and minerals, directly into the dermis, so that the products used act quickly on our skin.

Hyaluronic acid molecules are capable of absorbing up to 1000 times their weight in water, thus producing a supporting and cohesive effect of water retention, which keeps the skin smooth and hydrated. In addition, it stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin and stops the effect of free radicals.

Infiltrated vitamins offer a high level of protection against sun exposure and act as powerful antioxidants. Organic silicon is the constituent substance of collagen and stimulates cell division and metabolism. It acts by inhibiting the formation of free radicals and regenerating the connective tissue.

The procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes. After the session, the patient can return to normal activity. It is a treatment that we apply as a complement to almost all our rejuvenation therapies.
