Causes of infertility in women
The main causes of infertility in women are as follows:
- There is an obstruction in the fallopian tube ducts.
- Endometriosis: there is a growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, especially in the pelvic cavity, ovaries, in the posterior area of the uterus…
- Endocrine problems: irregular ovulation, caused by a malfunction of the ovaries, pituitary gland, adrenal glands or hypothalamus.
- Poor quality eggs
- Untreated chlamydia or gonorrhea
Causes of infertility in men
Male infertility is caused by the following problems:
- Existing problems in the sperm, either because of reduced motility or because the total number is low.
- Genetic abnormalities or problems that can be divided into two: on the one hand, genetic abnormalities in the genes or chromosomes, and on the other hand, abnormalities that only affect the germ line of the man, i.e., his spermatozoa.
- Idiopathic or unknown origin: the reasons that prevent the egg and oocyte from uniting with the sperm to create the embryo are unknown.
- Sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia or gonorrhea that for some reason have not been treated.
