What is Lipovaser?

Lipovaser is a totally innovative type of liposuction that uses modern ultrasound technology and acts selectively on the fat, making it liquid and facilitating its removal and elimination.

The main advantage of Lipovaser is that it can be used in very large areas as well as in small ones, achieving very good results in a short time. It can also be applied in multiple areas of the body: neck, face, chest, chin, abdomen, arms, back, buttocks, waist, hips and knees, among others.

Lipovaser is a modality of liposuction that is able to distinguish fat from other important tissues, such as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. In this way, Lipovaser separates the fat while preserving the other tissues, resulting in less bruising and blood loss, as well as faster patient recovery.

The anesthesia will be general, combined with analgesia so that postoperative pain is minimal.

Lipovaser is an innovative liposuction technique that uses ultrasound.

Why is it performed?

Lipovaser is used to selectively remove fat accumulations that are normally more difficult to eliminate, achieving greater definition and toning. The ultrasound technology used is designed to gently reshape the body, with natural and uniform results, promoting the stretching and retraction of the skin, as well as its adaptation to the new volume obtained in the patient’s body. In fact, Lipovaser allows curves to be better defined in difficult areas such as the abdomen, back, waist and hips.

Lipovaser can be used by those who have a relatively normal weight but accumulations of fat in certain areas. Thus, Lipovaser can be performed on: patients who are not excessively overweight or obese; people with fat accumulated in X areas of the body who wish to shape and refine them; patients who seek to remove fat from some areas of the body and use it in others to gain volume; and patients who normally do sports but who, with neither diet nor exercise, are unable to achieve 100% definition.

What does it consist of?

During the procedure, the Plastic Surgery specialist will inject a saline solution into the area of the patient’s body to be treated, which will numb the area and constrict the blood vessels. This will minimize the appearance of bruises.

A very small transducer will then be introduced into the subcutaneous fat layer through small incisions. The end of the transducer vibrates at ultrasonic frequencies particularly designed to stimulate, break up and detach the fat cells to be suctioned and removed.

The duration of the procedure will depend on the volume to be treated in each patient, but usually lasts about 2-4 hours.

Preparation for Lipovaser

In principle, no special preparation is necessary to undergo a Lipovaser procedure.

Care after the procedure

The patient must remain in the clinic for 24-48 hours after the procedure. It is recommended that you return to your normal life, without intense physical exercise or great efforts, at least for 3 weeks, or until the doctor says so.

Although 24 hours after the Lipovaser can appreciate the approximate result of what will be the final, it is normal that the body still accumulates some inflammatory fluid in the intervened areas, which will be removed gradually with hyperbaric chamber, lymphatic drainage and pressure garments.

The patient will wear a compressive garment for a few days to speed up recovery. Specific massages will also be performed to drain liquids and, subsequently, lymphatic drainage will be performed to achieve a more agile recovery.

The results of Lipovaser are long lasting, with a more defined body contour.
