New Cardiodiagnostics

The Cardiodiagnosis Medical Society of Clínica Creu Blanca closes this year 2015 with great news.

One of the main novelties is the recent publication in Chinese of the book “Atlas of Non-Invasive Coronary Angiography by Multidetector Computed Tomography”. This book has been coordinated by Dr. Guillem Pons Lladó and Dr. Rubén Leta Petracca, both members of Cardiodiagnosis. It is an international reference publication in MDCT applied to the study of the heart and coronary arteries. The translation was made at the request of Yan’an University and the Medical Imaging Service of Yan’an Hospital. Thanks to this translation and to the trip of Dr. Pons Lladó to China for the presentation of the book, talks have begun for a teaching collaboration with the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau and the Clínica Creu Blanca, with the aim of training Chinese specialists in this advanced imaging technique.

Another new development in 2015 was the collaboration between Cardiodiagnosis and Clínica Creu Blanca with Toshiba Medical Systems to optimize software to suppress the coronary artery calcium signal in images obtained by coronary MDCT, in a study coordinated by Dr. David Viladés and Dr. Rubén Leta Petracca. Preliminary data from the study, which is being conducted jointly with the Heart Center-Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, have been published in the December issue of the prestigious journal European Radiology.

Looking ahead to 2016, Cardiodiagnosis is organizing the IX Focus Creu Blanca, preferably aimed at cardiologists and radiologists interested in advanced cardiac medical imaging techniques (CardioRM and CardioTC).
