XI National Congress of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease

The XI National Congress of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Diseases will be held in the city of Valladolid from May 19 to 21. Dr. Centeno Malfaz, specialist in Pediatric Cardiology and member of Top Doctors, is the president of the organizing committee.

This week Valladolid will be the meeting point for different professional experts in pediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease from all over the world. The aim of this edition is to update knowledge and share professional experiences.

What aspects will be discussed?

During this new edition, the latest scientific updates in the different fields of pediatric cardiology will be presented in different working groups. Two pre-congress workshops will be held, one dedicated to cardiovascular assessment prior to sports practice in children and adolescents, and the other will be a practical one on echocardioscopy. The congress will include another practical workshop on arrhythmias in pediatrics and various round tables and conferences on fetal cardiology, arrhythmias, clinical cardiology, chronic heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, aortic valvulopathy, right ventricular outflow tract in operated patients, vascular accesses and minimally invasive surgery. A symposium on respiratory infections due to respiratory syncytial virus in pediatric cardiology will also be organized.

In addition, the scientific program will feature a number of international speakers, which will benefit the discussion and discovery of new advances. In addition, on Saturday morning there will be a workshop with families, together with the Menudos Corazones Foundation, so that parents can share their doubts and concerns with us. That same day in the afternoon there will also be a popular march through the center of Valladolid in support of children with heart disease.

Who is this congress aimed at?

The congress is aimed at all healthcare personnel involved in pediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease, i.e. pediatric and adult cardiologists, pediatric cardiovascular surgeons, pediatricians, neonatologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, residents and nursing staff. In conclusion, around 300 professionals are expected to meet in Valladolid.
