Frequently Asked Questions about Rhinoplasty

What is the best age to have a nose job?

When there is a serious nasal breathing problem, it should be corrected as soon as possible, regardless of age. In the case of cosmetic surgery, it is recommended to wait until the growth of the nose is complete, which is after 15 years of age.

Will my face change a lot?

As a surgeon I seek to improve facial proportions while maintaining an absolutely natural appearance. The objective is that the nose is not the center of attention. That the patient’s face is the same but improved, more beautiful, and that a person who sees it for the first time never realizes that it is operated.

The aesthetic changes in the nose can be more or less radical. I always adapt to the patient’s wishes.

Are there ways to see the possible result before having the treatment?

Nowadays there are very good applications to perform simulations of the rhinoplasty result. However, they have limitations and do not guarantee a real surgical result, so they are used for complementary illustrative purposes and in no case replace the consultation with a surgeon.

Is the postoperative period very painful?

No, not at all. In most cases the patient does not feel pain. If there is pain it is usually very mild and controllable with common analgesia. During the first days the patient feels nasal congestion and some difficulty breathing that usually resolves quickly as the swelling goes down.
