An endoscopy system that allows a 320º view in colonoscopy arrives in Spain

The Institute of Digestive Diseases, Top Doctors’ center of excellence, has acquired a new trivisional endoscopy system (EndoChoice® system), which not only allows colonoscopy in 320º vision, but also allows a 270º vision in gastroscopy. This system, especially useful in colon cancer screening, makes the Institute the first private center in Spain to have this state-of-the-art equipment.

With this new endoscopic system, the specialist is able to view almost twice the surface area of a traditional endoscope. These areas can go unnoticed if only one camera is used.

For Dr. Carlos de Sola, Director of the Digestive Diseases Institute and member of Top Doctors, “the new system has three cameras attached to the flexible tip of the endoscope that offer improved diagnosis and increased detection of adenomas in problem areas that specialists did not have access to until now, which broadens diagnostic capabilities.”
