Thigh lift: crural meloplasty

Two patients undergoing inner thigh lift or femoral and gluteal dermolipectomy. Left: body deformity with generalized obesity who previously underwent abdominoplasty. Right: obese patient who has lost 20 kg. and presents very important flaccidity in the inner thighs. We performed a facelift or dermolipectomy whose scar is hidden under the pubic hair and in the crease of the buttocks. She also underwent a breast lift and augmentation (mastopexy with prosthesis).

The thigh lift includes both an inner and outer thigh lift or trochanteric lift.

The inner thigh lift consists of removing excess skin and fat from the inner thighs. Many times it is associated to liposculpture of the mentioned region and can, depending on its magnitude, be performed under local or epidural anesthesia. It requires 24 hours in the clinic and the use of a compressive but soft elastic garment during 15 days. It also benefits from massages and pressotherapy.

The purpose of the trochanteric dermolipectomy is to reduce the excess of skin and fat in the great deformities of the thighs and buttocks, or to stretch the thighs in their external and internal face. Currently, after liposculpture, its indication has decreased, however, it allows excellent results in very specific cases. It is a major surgery that needs to be admitted to the clinic for 3 or 4 days and that is performed under epidural or general anesthesia. The patient must wear a custom-made elastic garment during the postoperative period and avoid sitting for 8 to 10 days. The patient also benefits from pressotherapy, massages, etc.
