Buttock Lift?

What is a flankplasty?

Flankplasty is the surgical procedure that removes excess skin, i.e., eliminates flaccidity in the flank (or hip) and lumbosacral region. By tractioning the skin in the vertical vector it also allows to obtain a lifting or elevation of the buttocks. Sometimes this operation can be combined with an abdominoplasty.

Who is this surgery recommended for?

Candidates for this intervention are those people, both men and women, who present a marked flaccidity in the mentioned regions or whose buttocks are sagging. An excess of skin and fat in the area accumulated in the posterior part can cause the buttocks area to sag.

What are the requirements for a flankplasty candidate?

As with other body contouring surgeries in Plastic Surgery, the patient must be at a normal weight, not overweight, not be a smoker and be in satisfactory health.

What are the risks involved in this operation?

The risks are the same as those of any intervention. The good selection of the surgical candidate and the meticulous technique minimize the potential risks.

What are the results?

The results are immediate: the contour of the posterior region is smoothed, the waist is marked and the buttocks are lifted.

What advice should the patient follow after a flankplasty?

Postoperative care is the same as for any other body contouring procedure: take care of the operated area and visit the office twice a week to remove the stitches during the first 15 days.
