End Chronic Pain

Pain techniques are those that aim to combat chronic pain, that is, pain that persists for more than three months and is not relieved by the usual treatments recommended by the family doctor or specialist in question. It is very important not to let the pain become ‘chronic’, as this makes it more difficult to treat. At the Centro Medico Teknon Pain Clinic we assess the pain and establish a specific treatment for each patient, whether it is pharmacological, interventional or a combination of both. Also, when we consider it necessary, we consult with various medical specialists (rheumatologist, orthopedic surgeon, neurosurgeon, psychologist or acupuncturist) to achieve a multidisciplinary therapeutic approach.

Chronic pain is a symptomatology related to degenerative diseases, which is why it most frequently affects patients over 50 years of age. Due to its origin, the treatment is complex and requires an approach with different treatment modalities, whether pharmacological, infiltrations and blocks, psychological and complementary therapies, such as acupuncture.

Latest treatments

In reference to pharmacological treatment, the doctors of the pain clinic have extensive knowledge of new drugs as well as current clinical guidelines, as every day new drugs emerge more specific and less side effects.

Regarding interventions, we have various techniques such as the “rational” application of radiofrequency, the implementation of stimulation systems or the use of new preparations to be used in infiltrations. We also extract and process the patient’s own blood in order to treat chronic inflammation resulting from degenerative diseases. In this way, we have enhanced other therapeutic approaches, such as psychological support and biofeedback, acupuncture and homeopathy.
