A different kind of marathon with Innova Ocular: donating blood saves lives

Last Tuesday, May 28, the 8th edition of the solidarity campaign to raise awareness in favor of blood donation was held, an event organized by the Transfusion Center of the Valencian Community and Onda Cero in Valencia, accompanied by representatives of the Valencian Ophthalmology Center.

A total of 175 people came to the Ateneo Mercantil cultural center in Valencia and contributed to the donation of blood to save the lives of hundreds of people. Since its first edition, more than 900 donations have already been registered, and each donation saves 3 lives, so counting the total donations, it has been possible to save around 2,700 lives.

Innova Ocular Clínica Vila joins the project, not only by donating blood, but also by making donors aware of the need to take care of their eye health through regular check-ups. To this end, donors are provided with a first visit free of charge.

For more than 50 years, Innova Ocular Clínica Vila has been a reference center in Ophthalmology in the Valencian Community. The Clinic, directed by Dr. Jorge Vila, an outstanding ophthalmologist on the national and international scene, stands out for its cutting-edge treatment of glaucoma pathologies, refractive surgery for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, with the most modern equipment available for their correction.
