85th Argentinean Congress of Surgery

The Argentine Congress of Surgery was an initiative that was born in 1929 and celebrates its 85th edition this year. The previous edition had a historical record of attendance, thus, the challenge of the Organizing Committee in 2014 is to maintain the scientific, social and innovation level. The thoracic surgeon and member of Top Doctors, Dr. Molins López-Rodó, has been one of the collaborators of this scientific conference.

The central theme will be the complications of surgery on which multiple doctors, both Argentinean and foreign, will collaborate. One of them will be the expert and member of Top Doctors, Dr. Laureano Molins, who will contribute with his knowledge on thoracic surgery in several activities as lecturers and keynote speakers. During these conferences, the doctor will discuss, for example, whether surgery is an option in lung cancers with mediastinal lymph node involvement (N2) or what is the surgical treatment of pulmonary emphysema in the 21st century. In addition, he will give other lectures on the rumored advances of the mediastinum, bronchoplastic lung resections to avoid the removal of the entire lung in cases of cancer and innovations in the treatment of pectus excavatum, better known as sunken chest.

Dr. Molins has extensive experience in treatments related to the thoracic area thanks, among other professional activities, to his position as Head of the Thoracic Surgery Service at the Hospital Clínic and Sagrat Cor in Barcelona.

The lectures will be held from November 3 to 6, during which time Dr. Molins is scheduled to give a lecture on the thoracic area. Molins López-Rodó collaborates every day, together with Dr. Roberto Lamy and Dr. Pablo Acri, who will accompany him during his lectures.
