Digital dermoscopy: the technique to control our moles

Melanocytic nevi are a very frequent reason for consultation in our pediatric dermatology offices. The first thing that all parents need to be clear about is that melanoma is really exceptional in these early stages of life. And yet today, for lesions that are atypical, we have a new technique available, which is digital dermoscopy.

What is digital dermoscopy?

Digital dermoscopy is a magnifying glass, which is on a computer, and allows us to see very closely all these moles in these patients and also in adulthood. In this way we can monitor the possible changes that occur in them and consider the option of excision if these changes are suggestive of malignancy.
