Dr Mauricio Verbauvede has more than 20 years of experience in hair micrografting, he is the first plastic surgeon who started with the robotic FUE technique in Spain, he has been working with the technique since November 2013, and has successfully treated more than 150 cases.

There are 2 techniques of hair micrografting and both are performed by extracting the patient’s own hair:
1. the FUSS technique, in which a strip of skin is extracted from the back of the head.
2. the FUE technique, in which independent follicular units are extracted, either manually or with the ARTAS robot. Follicles are the part of the skin that makes hair grow, as it concentrates the stem cells that give life to the hair. It is the most active dynamic structure of the whole organism.

ARTAS System is a major breakthrough in micrografting. Unlike other micrografting techniques, this procedure guarantees 100% effectiveness of the grafts performed, since the follicular extraction through the robot keeps all the follicles intact.
The robot chooses and changes the extraction angle, the quality of the follicles is superior and none is discarded. Unlike the FUSS technique, there are no marks or scars. It is 3 times faster than the manual FUE technique; up to 4,000 follicular units can be extracted in one day. Each follicular unit is equivalent to 2-3 hairs.
The procedure
The procedure is done in one day, with local anesthesia and oral sedation. With manual FUE technique the treatment may require up to 3 sessions in 3 days. The ARTAS robotic technique is more precise, the result is 100% natural and the recovery is immediate, since in 48 hours you can return to normal life.
The price depends on the area, density, hair quality and units to be placed. The result is seen from the sixth month and in 1 year the final result is seen, which is definitive, since the implanted hair does not fall again, it grows healthy and strong.
It can be used in practically all patients from 20 to 65 years old, who do not want to have a scar and wish to obtain a high density. Even so, in the Epitouch clinic we use all the techniques of hair micrografting, offering the patient the appropriate technique to obtain the desired result.
