ROPA method: complementary to assisted reproduction

The ROPA method is a method of reproduction that, taking advantage of advances in science and technology, allows couples of women to become mothers.

The method combines the eggs of one of the women of the couple and the uterus and gestation of the other. For the treatment to be effective, it is necessary that both partners undergo a stimulation treatment to maximize the chances of pregnancy.

The woman who provides her eggs undergoes ovarian stimulation to promote the production of follicles and oocytes.

The treatment lasts for 12 days and is applied at home, but it is monitored at the clinic, since the specialists must carry out hormonal and ultrasound analyses to know when is the best time to proceed with the egg retrieval. Normally 8 eggs are extracted and the procedure lasts no more than 20 minutes.

On the other hand, we have the woman who prepares to receive the eggs. She also undergoes an exhaustive control focused on preparing her uterus so that the endometrium is in its best shape.

Acupuncture as an alternative treatment to improve the results of the ROPA method

Acupuncture helps both the processes prior to the ROPA method, as well as during the process and at the end of it.

Acupuncture needles release endorphins that provide a feeling of well-being. For this reason it is advisable to start treatment three months before undergoing the ROPA method, since acupuncture will generate serenity and tranquility during the process.

From Acupuncture Legorburu we adapt the acupuncture treatments to those of the clinic, always respecting the individuality of each patient.
