Facial rejuvenation

What is facial rejuvenation?

Facial rejuvenation is the use of various techniques to correct the manifestations of aging in the skin.

Aging is a slow and inevitable process that begins to show in the skin of the face after the age of 35. As a result there are a series of changes in the skin such as:

  • Wrinkles
  • Flaccidity
  • The appearance of pigmented lesions (spots) and vascular lesions.

Why is it performed?

These treatments are performed in order to correct the imperfections that are appearing and thus achieve the rejuvenation of facial skin, providing a more youthful and radiant appearance.

These treatments can smooth wrinkles, contour the face and define certain facial features.

What does it consist of?

Depending on the type of manifestation of aging to be rejuvenated, one technique or another will be used:

  • Wrinkles can be treated with fillers, peeling and dermabrasions, laser or botulinum toxin.
  • For flaccidity, radiofrequency techniques can be used.
  • Peelings, cryotherapy or pulsed light can be used to remove pigmented lesions.
  • For vascular lesions (spider veins and couperose), laser treatment should be used.

Preparation for facial rejuvenation

Before any cosmetic procedure, the specialist will know your medical history, will have evaluated your skin and your skin care regimen. Following the preliminary analysis, the most appropriate treatments will be recommended and a treatment plan will be developed.

Post-procedure care

Postoperative care depends on the procedure performed, but compared to surgical procedures for facial rejuvenation the recovery time is much faster. Patients can usually return to normal activity the same day or the day after the procedure.
