Cryosclerosis liquidus

What is liquid cryosclerosis?

Liquid cryosclerosis is a technique that allows the gradual removal of microvaricose veins and capillaries in the legs.

Why is it performed?

Liquid cryosclerosis is a simple and fast technique that allows excellent and safe elimination of microvaricose veins. However, it not only corrects the aesthetics of varicose veins but also relieves the overload they cause in the circulation, alleviating the symptoms of pain and feeling of heavy legs.

What does it consist of?

It consists of introducing a sclerosing product into the blood capillary at a temperature of about -40 degrees. Being at such a low temperature produces irritation of the capillary wall, which is followed by a hardening of the capillary, a process called sclerosis and, therefore, the disappearance of the micro-vein. The patient may notice during the procedure a slight stinging and reddening of the area due to the cold, which disappears after 24-48 hours. It is a technique with good results that allows to eliminate later pigmentations that arise with other sclerosing procedures. The syringe with which it is performed has two compartments: on the inside is the sclerosing product and on the outside is the carbonic snow that provides the necessary cold for the sclerosing liquid to reach -40 degrees during the entire session.

Preparation for liquid cryosclerosis

No special preparation is necessary for liquid cryosclerosis.

Aftercare after the procedure

No specific care is necessary after liquid cryosclerosis. However, sun exposure is discouraged, so it is always better to perform cryosclerosis in winter or times when you are not going to sunbathe. In general, this technique is very well tolerated by patients. The stinging sensation or redness that some patients may notice disappears after 24-48 hours and other patients sometimes notice a purplish coloration in the following 15 days, which will dissolve as the days go by. In such a case only a cream should be applied.
