Coaching

What is coaching?

Coaching is a new psychological discipline that consists of a process of counseling and personalized training in which the ‘coach’ (or trainer) accompanies the subject in his personal development to achieve the goals or objectives set. During this process, the coach works to help the person discover and optimize his or her skills and performance, building and raising self-confidence and discovering or developing latent abilities or talents. Depending on the case, the person and their objectives, it is required to deepen personal situations and relationships to get rid of certain impediments or aspects of the personality that prevent them from progressing in different areas of their lives. In this way, this new discipline achieves highly satisfactory results and allows the personal growth of the individual, achieving both professional and personal goals in the long term.

Why is coaching done?

Personal coaching is done at the patient’s wish, when he/she wants to better manage his/her own self-esteem, motivation, believe in his/her possibilities and have a faster path to success. What personal coaching allows is to put desires into practice, when you want to change your career, to improve relationships with family and friends or when you want to start a new business project.

What does coaching consist of?

The coach is always by the patient’s side, following the patient’s rhythm and making him/her aware of his/her beliefs. This relationship is established in four steps:

– Observation: observation of new paradigms, beliefs and behaviors as alternatives to assume new goals.

– Awareness: assimilating the power of choice, learning techniques to choose more effective options and observing the consequences of the choice.

– Determination of objectives: defining the objectives to be achieved in order to better mark the path towards them.

– Action: when all the information is obtained, the next step is action. During this period, the coach accompanies you to solve any problems that may arise.

– Measurement: checking the distance between the patient’s situation and his or her goals, allowing corrective decisions to be made.

Preparation for coaching

It is important that the patient comes to the coach out of desire, when he/she believes it is necessary to obtain advice to achieve his/her goals. The patient must be motivated by this, since he is the one who motivates himself and believes that he can achieve everything he sets his mind to.

Aftercare after the intervention

At the end of the coaching it is important to continue applying the techniques learned to remain aware that we can do whatever we propose if we believe in our possibilities.
