LASER HAIR REMOVAL

What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a treatment that allows the permanent removal of unwanted hair from any part of the body. It is performed using a laser application technique on the skin. It does not require anesthesia, but an anesthetic cream is applied to minimize the sensation of pain.

Currently, there are different types of lasers such as Alexandrite, Diode and Neodymium. All of them are safe and guarantee the elimination of the hair follicle without damaging the tissues or neighboring structures.

Why is it performed?

Laser hair removal is performed to completely remove hair from the body.

What does it consist of?

The light emitted is concentrated on the hair and causes its destruction. In each session a percentage of the hair in the treated area is removed but, as each hair has a different growth rate, a portion will remain and grow back. Therefore, the treatment should be repeated over several sessions depending on the area to be treated and the type and color of both the hair and the skin.

Faster results are usually achieved on lighter skin with dark hair, but for each patient the intensity of the laser applied is customized and graded by the platform used.

Preparation for laser hair removal

Before undergoing a hair removal treatment, the physician should perform an analysis of the patient’s skin and medical history to avoid possible allergic reactions or contraindications to this treatment.

The days before the session, the patient should moisturize her skin very well.
