What is hydrolipoclasia?

Hydrolipoclasia is a treatment indicated to reduce cellulite and localized fat, as well as to shape different areas of the body, mainly waist, abdomen, thighs, arms… It should be noted that this technique is intended to lose fat and volume, but not to lose weight.

Why is it performed?

The advantages of hydrolipoclasy are visible from the first session. The main objective of this treatment is the elimination of fat, as if it were a liposuction but without going through the operating room. It is possible to reduce 1 to 2 cm per session, as long as you follow a low-fat diet and do not drink alcohol. In addition, it is more economical than traditional liposuction, being also very effective, since by breaking the fat cell, it will not be able to harbor more fat inside.

The main objective of this treatment is the elimination of fat.

What does it consist of?

The application of this technique consists of two phases. First, a kind of hypotonic serum is infiltrated into the area to be treated, provoking a reaction of the adipose tissue. Subsequently, low-frequency ultrasound is applied by means of a specific device and technology to the area to be treated. This produces the so-called “cavitation”, which is the generation of bubbles that cause the breakdown of fat cells and their subsequent elimination by natural metabolic pathways. The session usually lasts approximately 60 minutes per area. The number of sessions will be indicated depending on the area to be treated and the type of fat accumulated.

Preparation for hydrolipoclasy

The intervention does not require an operating room or hospitalization, it is performed in the office of a specialist in Aesthetic Medicine. This makes it gain speed, cost and comfort to the patient, who can resume their daily activities in 60 minutes after the session. Before the intervention, the area is anesthetized, since a few light punctures are applied to inject the solution. However, depending on the patient’s sensitivity, he/she may feel slight discomfort during these injections. Once the session is over, the treated part is left with a fresh and pleasant sensation.

Aftercare after the procedure

After each session, lymphatic massages are recommended to promote recovery and to completely eliminate localized fat. Normally, massages can be requested at the same specialized center where the hydrolipoclasy treatment is performed.

Alternatives to this treatment

There are patients who prefer not to undergo surgery to enjoy fat reduction. For this, there are less invasive treatments, such as:

  • Vela shape: different radiofrequency techniques are used to reaffirm and stimulate localized fat and then a vacuum therapy is performed, which consists of a massage to eliminate waste substances.
  • Lipolaser: is a technique that removes fat with a cannula the thickness of a needle. It also tightens the skin and eliminates cellulite.
  • Method 3: is a 3 in 1 treatment that eliminates cellulite, excess volume and fat. It can be combined with electrotherapy.
  • Intralipotherapy: a resorbable acid that breaks down fat cells is infiltrated.
