World Smile Day

Today is World Smile Day, a day where the smile is the main protagonist. A special date that helps us to appreciate the importance of the work of the Theodora Foundation, which organizes and pays for the visit of the Smile Doctors, hospital clowns, to hospitalized children.

Theodora Foundation, which has been bringing smiles to hospitalized children for more than ten years, creates spaces of illusion and makes the children’s stay more bearable.

Among the programs of the Theodora Foundation is the weekly visit of the Smile Doctors to the hospitalized children. They also accompany them to the operating room when they have to undergo surgery, always in coordination with the center’s medical and health personnel to improve the child’s quality of life.

On this World Smile Day, the Theodora Foundation is dedicated to all its little patients so that for a moment the children can forget about their illness and enjoy themselves as the children they are.

Emergency Laughter

With the aim of continuing to bring smiles to pediatric hospitals, Fundación Theodora has created the show “Risas de Emergencia” which will premiere in Barcelona on October 12, in Malaga on November 16 and will also arrive in the Canary Islands in January.

Testimonials Fundación Theodora

“How many times do I still have to sleep until Dr. Smile comes back?” Adriana, four year old patient.

“I am Angela, an 8 year old girl. This afternoon the Doctors came by and finally got a smile out of me, no one had been able to do that since my admission. Mom wants to thank you for your work, I think initiatives like this are important and cure before medicines.” Ángela, hospitalized child.

“Waiting to go into the operating room we met Dr. Paquicardia who was with us doing magic tricks and entertaining us during that slow wait. She cheered us up a lot and, most importantly, she calmed my daughter down a lot since she didn’t even realize I was leaving because she was playing with Dr. Paquicardia. P.S.(We will keep your real name Dr. Pachycardia a secret).” Mother of a hospitalized girl
