Embriogyn: 10 years fulfilling the dream of being parents

Ten years is a long time. In the case of the Assisted Reproduction and Prenatal Diagnosis Clinic Embriogyn, they have given, above all, for many illusions.

The first priority in the clinic is the close and familiar treatment but, above all, it transmits the illusion of the professionals who work to respond and make the dream of all the patients who come to the clinic grow.

During these ten years Embriogyn, a member of Top Doctors, has grown in every way. In this way, it has established itself as a benchmark in the province of Tarragona and every year more and more women and couples have trusted the clinic to become mothers and fathers. Also, ten years have also given for many hours of continuing education, conferences and knowledge, interacting and sharing with many other professional gynecologists in the profession.

Likewise, during all these years it has been a pioneer clinic at a technological level, always with the motivation and interest to improve and the eagerness to make pregnancy a reality, so desired by all patients. This meant that in 2011 it was the first clinic in the province and one of the only ones in Spain to incorporate the Embryoscope, an embryo culture time-lapse system that improved gestation rates by 15 to 20%. They have also been at the forefront in fertility preservation, embryo vitrification or ovarian stimulation guidelines.

In this sense, the area of Prenatal Diagnosis has followed the same steps as the area of Reproduction, being pioneers and leaders, directed by Dr. Gerard Albaigés, a great reference in Catalonia within the specialty.

The laser hysteroscopy unit has been the latest and most recent addition to Embriogyn. This is the only unit of its kind in Tarragona, and one of the few in Spain. It consists of a minimally invasive technique that is applied in the operating room during minor surgery and allows visualization and treatment of the inside of the uterus. This unit is a breakthrough to treat, among other pathologies:

  • Polyps
  • Intrauterine septa
  • Submucous myomas
  • Intrauterine adhesions
  • Asherman’s syndrome

However, in addition to the technological approach, Embriogyn is well aware that personalized attention and the state of mind of the patients is very important when facing an assisted reproduction process, which is why it always offers an emotional support service.

With the aim of providing the best treatment to the patient, several initiatives have been launched, among which the book “Quiero tener un hijo” (Vull tenir un fill, in Catalan) stands out. It is a compendium of stories told in first person by patients who have undergone an assisted reproduction process. The book allows us to help other women and couples, but it is also important because it is a shared project thanks to the trust and generosity of the people who participated.
