The incorporation of this new technology is an advance on many levels, especially because it offers advantages to patients who require surgical hysteroscopy to resolve their ailments. Patients with polyps, intrauterine septa, submucous myomas, intrauterine adhesions, Asherman’s syndrome, among other pathologies, will be able to undergo surgery without anesthesia and without the need for hospitalization. It also offers a significant reduction in the risk of hemorrhage and in the number of operations, as well as an improvement in postoperative quality. Thus, the laser hysteroscopy unit enables a minimally invasive technique to be performed in Embriogyn’s own minor surgery operating room.
However, there are other utilities of the hysteroscopy technique, since it allows its application in a family planning system called Essure. With this system, a device is placed in the fallopian tubes, preventing pregnancies permanently and without surgery.
