Oftalvist contributes twelve papers to ESCRS Congress

The Oftalvist team, Top Doctors’ ophthalmology center of excellence, presented twelve scientific communications at the 23rd Annual Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS).

The meeting was held in London in September. The latest advances in the field of cataract and refractive surgery were presented, bringing together more than 10,000 ophthalmologists from all over the world this year.

In addition, the center has also sent part of its team to attend the numerous scientific conferences of the Congress, with the aim of not abandoning its commitment to constant training.

Laser treatment of cataracts

The main topic chosen by the team for its communications was the treatment of cataract using the femtosecond laser technique, also called Catalys. Oftalvist uses this method, as they consider it to be the most precise and effective alternative for cataract removal.

They also mentioned the SMILE correction technique, which is new and almost 100% effective for the treatment of refractive defects such as myopia and astigmatism.

The most widely shared conclusion of the Congress was that, although the role of technology makes it possible to offer better solutions every day, the surgeon’s control and decisions to act in the event of any complication are fundamental.

The Oftalvist team has expanded the information of the Congress as well as the treatments they perform in their renewed web page.
