Dr. Vicente Rodriguez and Dr. Humberto Carreras, medical directors of Eurocanarias Oftalmológica, participated in the 93rd Annual Congress of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology (SEO), which was held in Zaragoza between September 20 and 23.
Dr. Vicente Rodriguez was invited to participate in the symposium ‘Latest developments in surgery and diagnosis’, where he spoke about the new rings for the treatment of keratoconus, Intraseg. This treatment provides some novelties over the existing ones and grants a personalized treatment to each patient, obtaining a greater efficacy in the surgical treatment of keratoconus. In his speech, the doctor spoke, above all, about the novel asymmetric base ring segments that appear for the first time and of which he himself will be the first surgeon in Spain to use them.
Dr. Humberto Carreras had several participations during the day of September 22nd. In the first one, he participated as moderator in the symposium ‘Objective 0. Latest advances in refractive cataract’, sponsored by Alcon. The congress was an informative session on the latest advances in refractive surgery and astigmatism management.
That same day, he acted as moderator in the symposium ‘Beyond phaco: New challenges and advances in cataract surgery’. This session analyzed in detail the latest Faco equipment that has come onto the market and, in addition, discussed how all the parameters can be interfered with and modified to optimize each intervention.
