Next Monday, April 29th, Dr. Àngels Bayés, Neurology specialist and member of Top Doctors, will hold a conference at 5pm at Teknon Medical Center, where STAT-ON™, a new device for Parkinson’s patients, will be presented.
After a decade of research and development between three pillars of our society (university and research, health and business), a Holter for Parkinson’s disease is presented, which will allow progress in autonomy and quality of life of the patient.
STAT-ON™ represents a great technological leap and has been possible thanks to the commitment to innovation and the joint work of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), through the Center for Technological Studies for Dependency Care (CETpD) and the Parkinson’s Unit of the Teknon Medical Center – Quirónsalud Group, as well as SENSE4CARE, a spin-off of the UPC, which has carried out the final development of the device.
Objective of STAT-ON™ and what information it offers
The aim of the research teams has been to develop a device capable of monitoring and detecting the motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, providing objective and accurate data to overcome the great difficulties that often arise in the management of treatment.
The “Holter for Parkinson’s” is a comfortable and discreet, non-invasive device that provides the neurologist with valuable information to know precisely the patient’s condition. This will allow informed decisions to be made about the best treatment, defining medication guidelines.

The presentation of STAT-ON™ is aimed at people affected by Parkinson’s and also their relatives, as well as neurologists and all those professionals interested in new technologies applied in improving the quality of life of the Parkinson’s patient.
During the presentation, the researchers who have worked on the creation of the device will explain the details of this advance. They will also be joined by an expert patient who will share his experience with the device.
