InstituteMYM, medical center member of Top Doctors specialized in stress, fatigue and pain, organizes the I Forum of patients with Central Sensitization Syndrome.
Next October 4, 2018 at 18h will take place in the auditorium of the Teknon Medical Center the I Forum of Patients with Central Sensitization Syndrome. It is a meeting organized by the instituteMYM, a unit of the hospital dedicated to the multidisciplinary approach to stress, fatigue and pain.
The Central Sensitization Syndrome (CSS) encompasses different diseases with a common denominator: the lowering of the sensory threshold and, therefore, the alteration in the perception of stimuli. The different diseases include fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, tension or migraine headaches, temporomandibular joint disorders, restless legs syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome… Several epidemiological studies show a high prevalence of up to 5% among the Spanish population.
The day is designed to be an enjoyable and participatory program with speakers and top scientific specialists, who will talk about the three main pillars on which instituteMYM works: stress, fatigue and pain.
The event will be coordinated at all times by Dr. Juan Muñoz Ortego, specialist in Rheumatology and Acupuncture, Dr. Juan Ybarra, expert in Endocrinology, and Dr. Albert Majó, specialist in Psychiatry. All three direct the instituteMYM and are in charge of the multidisciplinary approach to the pathologies mentioned above. During the day they will moderate the three round tables, focused on the three pillars addressed in instituteMYM and where specialists from different branches will intervene.
In addition, they will have the collaboration of the Lliga Reumatològica Catalana and the Associació Catalana del Síndrome de Fatiga Crònica/EM.
