Dr. Alcaraz will be recognized as a new member of the North American Society of Hematology at the congress to be held in Atlanta

Dr. Jesús Alcaraz Rubio, specialist in Hematology from Murcia and member of Top Doctors will attend between December 9 and 12 at the North American Hematology Congress held in Atlanta, United States. Dr. Alcaraz will be recognized as a new international member of the North American Society of Hematology and will present his abstract published in the journal Blood, the journal with the highest international impact in the specialty of Hematology.

The aim of Dr. Alcaraz’s study is to Alcaraz, and for which he will receive recognition, was to introduce and test a specific technique for obtaining PRP, with precise characteristics of both production and final composition of the compound obtained, in 75 healthy hematological patients, comparing the results with those obtained by other scientifically proven procedures.

The results of the study were based on the fact that no correlation was observed between the amount of concentrated platelets and the amount of growth factors finally obtained. The protocol established concentrated platelet and leukocyte levels approximately 3 to 5 times higher than basal levels with a predominance of mononuclear. Growth factor levels 7 to 10 times higher than the patient’s basal levels, with little variation in them.

Growth factor levels were stable in each patient’s blood within 24 hours of treatment, a 7- to 9-fold increase compared to the previous baseline. This method achieves between 1.5 and 3 times more platelets in the final product, with a clearly superior overall VEGF and TGF-B type growth factor purification.

As a conclusion, Dr. Alcaraz has pointed out that the described technique is more effective since the concentrate achieves a higher amount of platelets and growth factors and is efficient, since it maintains a serum protein in these stable patient sera after 24 hours of administration of the concentrate.
