Barcelona, November 18, 2019 – Top Doctors® has just released the list of the 50 best Spanish doctors in private medicine in the VI Edition of the Top Doctors® Awards. This prestigious award recognizes the work of medical specialists in the last year, valued by the medical collective itself and specialists in each area, in charge of making the nomination through an open survey process aimed at collegiate professionals who wish to participate. Likewise, all the doctors who are part of the platform have passed an external audit control and have been certified by what is currently the most rigorous selection process of doctors in the world, which has more than 25 years of experience.
In this edition, a total of 4,500 recommendations from professionals have been collected, from which the 50 most highly rated have been selected. The criteria that professionals should take into account when voting are training and clinical skills, as well as the reflection of which doctor they would go to or recommend to their friends or family. In addition, the opinions of patients after contacting or visiting the specialists are taken into account, where they value aspects such as time, attention or care received.
The ranking by provinces of the Top Doctors Awards 2019 is: Barcelona (8), Madrid (8), Seville (3), Malaga (3), Valencia (3), Alicante (3), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (3), A Coruña (2), Tenerife (2), Valladolid (2) and 13 provinces with 1 professional selected. Among the most recommended medical specialties in private medicine, Urology (with 6 professionals), Cardiology (4) and Gynecology, Traumatology, General Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery (with 3 professionals each) stand out, among others.
Dermatologist Agustín Viera Ramírez, ophthalmologist Humberto Carreras Díaz and Antonio de Lacy Fortuny (General and Digestive System Surgery) win the Top Doctors Awards for the fourth consecutive year.
