Next Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 at 10h will take place in the auditorium of CO+T Remei the exhibition Hip Surgery by Anterior Capsular Approach-MAASH. This is an exhibition organized by CO+T Remei, Clínica del Remei of Barcelona, which aims to share the opportunity to see practically live the execution of this technique.
During the days prior to the event, Dr. Felipe Delgado Lopez, traumatologist and pioneer in the MAASH Technique, will perform a hip intervention through this technique in the Remei Clinic in Barcelona. The procedure will be recorded precisely to share it in the exhibition, which will be attended by Dr. Delgado Lopez to present the case.
The MAASH Technique (Modified Anterolateral Approach for Stable Hip) is a technique that allows the preservation of the fundamental ligaments of the hip. This allows the implanted prosthesis to function as if it were an original hip. In this way, the MAASH Technique resolves complications related to the hip prosthesis. In this sense, it minimizes the risks associated with traditional techniques. It also facilitates the patient’s recovery with greater safety, reducing hospital stay. In fact, the patient can walk normally within seven to nine days.
It is a technique used as an alternative for athletes who need a quick recovery in order to be able to resume their activities. It reduces the time and costs, benefiting sports entities, health, insurance and the patient.
The day is designed under a participatory program, with the collaboration of the organizer Xavier Calvache, who will be in charge of explaining what Endoret of Bio Technology Institute, a Spanish multinational company specialized in Biomedicine focused on Regenerative Medicine, is all about. After the presentation, the guests will be able to enjoy an aperitif at the clinic’s facilities. In this way, they will be able to talk personally with Dr. Delgado and exchange knowledge with other traumatologists, orthopedists and prosthetists.
