Labia Majoraplasty

The labia majora augmentation surgery is performed when there has been a loss of collagen and generalized tissue support throughout the body due to the passage of time and that this phenomenon is very visible in the walls of the female genital tract.

This loss of collagen causes an atrophy that results in a flaccid and empty labia majora, which can be an aesthetic problem for the patient.

What does the operation consist of?

If the patient has flaccid labia majora, the excess skin can be removed by laser. If the problem comes from very empty labia majora, it is possible to increase the volume using two techniques:

1. a fat injection by lipotransfer, using fat from another area of the patient’s body.

2. An injection of hyaluronic acid, which will require maintenance every two years so as not to lose the result obtained.

Both procedures only require local anesthesia and last approximately one hour. After the observation time, the patient can return home. Even so, pelvic rest is recommended for 2 to 4 weeks, during which the patient should not have sexual intercourse or wear tight underwear.
