Being: letting go of ballast, connecting with your truth

We all seek to be happy or to live with inner peace and yet there is suffering. Why is it that if we have access to live with freedom, it is so difficult for us to anchor it in a stable way? Because we do not know ourselves and, in addition, we accept the social routine as the mechanical path that challenges us to have, instead of to be.

Socrates already said “Know thyself and you will know the universe”. The only way to connect with the flow is to discover the traps of the brain, thoughts and emotions that we cling to as absolute truth and that prevent us from connecting with our true self. To do this, we do not have to change anything in our daily routine, in fact, we have to continue with our obligations. These obligations must be understood as what I choose to do in order to live in a dignified and fulfilling way as a person. Thus, there is no excuse to say “I don’t have time”.

To really know oneself or to be reborn is a process that, if one feels it, must be climbed step by step. It does not matter the end in itself, but the details of each day that are loaded with subtleties. In this discernment, also called ascending, one feels better and better, with greater self-esteem and lighter load.

The first step is to realize that we are not what we feel or what we think. Emotions come and go and, like thoughts, they are not stable. We have all experienced how, faced with the same situation, one day our mind thinks one thing and the next day another. We also have the experience of what happens when we make decisions under the influence of exalted emotional states.

So, if we can take neither thoughts nor emotions seriously, since they are changeable, what can be my guide? Learning to discern the voice of conscience and ego that we all carry within us is fundamental. In reality, we all know which is the way of exquisiteness towards ourselves, since we have conscience. Faced with a situation, we feel or have the capacity to feel what would be the best way to deal with it. But if we are not attentive, the Ego will come into action, hindering the possibility of expressing ourselves in an exquisite way towards ourselves and, consequently, towards others. We treat others as we treat ourselves.

To listen to our conscience we must be attentive to the intuitions and sensations that we have. Reality and our perception of reality conditioned by inherited patterns are different things. To be able to change the perception of reality, that is, not to remain in the why it has happened and to open up to the what for, is the key to all progress. In the ego live insecurity and fear, the main obstacles to evolution. In the consciousness, however, reside the stable feelings of security, fullness, joy, love, compassion, freedom, true power and self-mastery.

The Ego wants to change reality and the other, it does not accept, it wants to manipulate. Consciousness knows that the one who has to change is oneself. It is liberating to know that for change to occur, above all we need ourselves. If the keys to permanent happiness already live in us, why not work on the exquisiteness of conquering them instead of conforming to the learned mechanisms? Commitment to oneself in the process of change is transformative in itself.
