Godoy Method, the lymphedema revolution

According to specialists in Physiotherapy, 4% of the Spanish population suffers from lymphedema, that is, a pathology that involves a failure or insufficiency in the lymphatic system. However, much is unknown about the disease and the treatment indicated for each patient.

Thanks to daily research into this disease, there are methods that achieve normalization of the affected limb by around 100%. This is the case of the Godoy Method, which has excellent results and is applied in a pioneering manner at the Instituto Fisiomédico.

Curro Millán, General Director of the Instituto Fisiomédico and direct disciple of the creators of the method: “This method is a revolution, in a few days the patient manages to have the affected limb almost completely normalized, which means a significant improvement in the quality of life of those affected”.

The Godoy Method is the result of 15 years of research by Dr. José Maria Pereira de Godoy and Dr. Maria Fátima Guerreiro. This method provides new techniques and a new treatment system that involves an inter and multidisciplinary approach.

What is the Godoy Method?

  • The Godoy Method, fundamental keys:
  • New approach to manual lymphatic drainage
  • Passive gymnastics using mechanical devices
  • Neurological stimulation
  • Compression therapies
  • Myolymphokinetic activities
  • Nutritional education

International recognition of the Godoy Method

The Godoy Method is a pioneering method of lymphatic drainage that has all the required scientific rigor and has been validated by the international scientific community. For this, the researchers followed the three phases of scientific evaluation: in vivo, in vitro and clinical studies.
